Biblically literate. Theologically competent. Globally engaged. These are the hallmarks of a Biblical and Theological Studies student at Bethel.

Bethel’s majors and minors in the Department of Biblical and Theological Studies bring you into contact with the historical foundations of the Christian faith. You’ll be introduced to Christianity’s central doctrines and have opportunities to understand the teachings of the most significant world religions. You’ll also experience the value of learning one or more of the languages (Greek and Hebrew) in which the Christian Scriptures were written.

Graduates leave prepared to enter careers in various ministry settings or pursue seminary or other graduate programs in fields related to the Bible and theology.

That preparation comes from faculty who teach from their experience serving and preaching in local churches. As experts, they’re interviewed on radio programs; they give lectures on the role technology plays in making the Bible more accessible; and they serve in boardrooms throughout the Twin Cities finding ways to connect faith and business practice.

At Bethel, we’re committed to maintaining a strong curriculum that will support you spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually as well as equip you to change the world for Christ.
