In the Department of Music at Bethel University, students have the opportunity to share their love of music through a number of outstanding performance ensembles.
Our performance ensembles include:
- Bethel Choir
- Bethel Wind Symphony
- University Orchestra
- Women’s Chorale
- Male Chorus
- Chamber Choir
- Jazz Orchestra
- Vocal Jazz Ensemble
- Handbell Ensemble
- String and wind chamber ensembles
Through the Bethel Choir, Bethel Wind Symphony, and University Orchestra, students have the opportunity to tour extensively throughout the United States and abroad. These groups, along with additional performance ensembles, perform together in Bethel’s annual Festival of Christmas, Jazz in the Great Hall, and Spring Festival concerts. Every other year, music students also have the opportunity to collaborate with theatre arts students on a major musical theater production.
Our majors and minors prepare students to use their musical abilities in a variety of careers. Students are challenged to stretch their comfort zones and grow their abilities with each lecture, private lesson, practice session, and performance.
Beyond their work with performance ensembles and classroom instruction, our faculty guide students through specialized courses of study and private lessons. Both music and non-music majors are welcome to join ensembles or take private music lessons.
