Majors & Minors

In the music department at Bethel, we’ve developed majors and minors that allow students to sharpen their individual skills and to follow their passions.

Majors

Bachelor of Music Education

The Music Education major is designed for students who wish to become fully qualified elementary or secondary school music teachers. Students can choose to earn a certification in instrumental K-12 or vocal K-12. Bethel's education degree fulfills the Minnesota certification requirements.

B.M. in Applied Performance

The Applied Performance major is for students with strong performance skills who wish to become professional musicians, college and university teachers, or private studio teachers. Students choose an emphasis in either Keyboard, Instrumental, or Composition.
