Majors & Minors
In the music department at Bethel, we’ve developed majors and minors that allow students to sharpen their individual skills and to follow their passions.
Bachelor of Music Education
The Music Education major is designed for students who wish to become fully qualified elementary or secondary school music teachers. Students can choose to earn a certification in instrumental K-12 or vocal K-12. Bethel's education degree fulfills the Minnesota certification requirements.
B.M. in Applied Performance
The Applied Performance major is for students with strong performance skills who wish to become professional musicians, college and university teachers, or private studio teachers.
B.A. in Sacred Music
The Sacred Music major is designed for students who wish to assume positions of leadership as musicians in the evangelical church.
B.A. in Music
The Music major is designed to provide students with the flexibility to study music while pursuing studies in another field.
The Music minor is for students with strong academic and performance interests who cannot fit a full music major into their schedule.
The Sacred Music minor is designed for those pursuing full-time pastoral ministries to develop an understanding of the role of the arts in worship.
