“Once in the Highlands, the Highlands of Scotland Two weary hunters lost their way. And this is what happened, The strange thing that happened To two weary
hunters who lost their way.” Prologue |
It is 1948 and two Americans, Tommy and Jeff, have come to Scotland and find themselves in the town of Brigadoon that has appeared miraculously out of the mists. The town is not on any map and the people appear to be from the 18th century. The mystery grows as the two men interact with the townsfolk and learn the “miracle” of Brigadoon—that it only appears for one day every hundred years. But the miracle that keeps evil out also keeps the light and love of Brigadoon in. This classic musical by Lerner and Lowe sparkles with wonderful songs, endearing characters and, as in all good parables, entertains while going deeper than a simple love story.
