Major:
Psychology, with Art History and Philosophy minors (and enough
credits for a Bible minor, but I couldn’t have three!) from Bethel
University
Hometown:
Rockford, IL
My favorite things about Bethel University:
Faculty. Students.
The emphasis on the three essential aspects of education (academic,
spiritual, social), fostering a “real world”/whole-life
faith. Campus activities, both meticulously planned and off-the-cuff
spontaneous.
My favorite places on Bethel’s campus:
What's not to love? The library with its wonderful art and comfortable couches—that’s the way to study! Benson Great Hall during Chapel or Vespers. The Monson Dining Center during lunch, the Commons building from every angle. Almost anyplace outdoors on campus in the spring and fall (and summer for those of us lucky enough to be on campus!). The Olson Gallery on any sunny afternoon.
My
favorite Twin Cities/Minnesota sites:
Running and biking trails.
Twins and Timberwolves games. Outdoor eating in the spring and fall.
The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Shopping for used CDs 365 days a
year until midnight at Cheapo.
Before working at Bethel:
I attended Bethel, and began working here immediately after graduation, eventually in the Admissions Office. I had a three year sabbatical from Admissions from 2000-2003, spending those years doing guidance work with 7th-12th grade students at New Life Academy in Woodbury, MN. I returned to Bethel in June 2003, and added the PSEO Coordinator role to my other duties.
