Next Step Campus Visit Weekend

Caring for Our Students, Caring for You—Changes in Campus Visit Weekend

In an effort to best care for our students and you, we are eliminating the overnight portion of the November Campus Visit Weekend. With the increase of H1N1 and seasonal flu in many area school districts, we feel that cancelling the overnight portion will lower the chance of spreading the virus on campus.

At this point, we do not have a major H1N1 outbreak on our campus. (We’ve been averaging about six new cases of possible H1N1 a day. Given the approximately 6,000 students and employees at all of our schools, this is a very low number of ill people.) This is a preventative measure for the health of our students and you.

Here are the details on the change:

  • There will no longer be an overnight portion of the visit, and the concert scheduled for Sunday evening has been cancelled.
  • We still have Sunday and Monday events planned for you and your parents. See the revised schedule below.
  • We realize many of you have already made travel reservations. If you have, please call our office at 800.255.8706, ext. 6242, to discuss a variety of options we can offer to you.
  • If you are running a temperature or are showing any symptoms similar to those of H1N1 or seasonal flu, please do not come to Campus Visit Weekend. We will be happy to work with you to reschedule your visit at a later date.
