College of Arts & Sciences

Welcome Parents and Families!

You're already praying for your son or daughter. Here are a few other ways you can help them out as they move closer to high school graduation:

During 9th & 10th Grade:

  • Make a list of important college criteria and all college possibilities.
  • Note classes that your student excels in and enjoys. This could be a good indicator of a future major.
  • Help your student learn good study skills early.

During 11th Grade:

  • Whittle down your list to 10-12 favorite colleges.
  • Research these colleges in detail. Pay special attention to admissions requirements.
  • Encourage a general campus visit to get a feel for your top schools.
  • Schedule ACT and/or SAT tests during your student’s junior year depending on what your top schools require. Learn about Bethel's admissions and testing requirements.

During 12th Grade:

  • Nail down your top 3-5 schools.
  • Visit or revisit your top schools and get to know your admissions counselor.
  • Submit applications to  2-4 schools. Pay special attention to varying deadlines at different schools.
  • Complete the FAFSA and Application for Financial Aid at schools that are still in the running in January.
  • Celebrate the acceptance letters and secure a spot. Bethel's $200 deposit is fully refundable before May 1. You can begin to take next steps like signing up for housing on campus. In the spring, you can sign up for classes.
  • Keep praying! Know that Bethel's admissions staff is praying for your family too!
