How do I transfer to Bethel?
Complete an application with essays and provide all previous college transcripts. If you have completed less than 30 college credits, you also need to provide a high school transcript and ACT or SAT score.

Once the Office of Admissions receives all of the required items, the file is sent to the admissions committee and a decision is usually made within a week.

How will my credits transfer?
Bethel will transfer in any academic college level course from a regionally accredited institution in which you have received a “C” or above.

Check out our Transfer Guides with detailed information on how classes will transfer from regional community colleges. When transferring from another school, our transfer counselor, evaluators, and faculty will work with you to determine how many credits transfer, which of your previous courses satisfy Bethel requirements, and what still lies ahead to complete a degree.

What are the requirements to be admitted to Bethel?
If you have completed 30 or more college credits, a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher is recommended. If you have completed less than 30 college credits, in addition to your college GPA, a high school rank of 50 percent or higher is recommended.

Are there application deadlines?
No, we continue to accept transfer students on a rolling basis as we have room. However, it is to your benefit to complete your file sooner rather than later for the reason that an early acceptance allows you to sign up for housing and classes sooner.

How many students transfer to Bethel each year?
You could be one of our 200+ transfer students this year.

How long will it take me to complete my degree at Bethel?
If you provide transcripts from your previous schools, you will receive a transcript evaluation to help determine which courses fulfill Bethel’s general education requirements, requirements for your major, or electives.

In addition to the evaluation, Bethel provides 4-year plans for each of our majors to help you plan and strategize how long it will take to complete your major at Bethel.

Is housing available for transfer students?
Yes, 75 percent of the Bethel community of 2800+ students live in Bethel housing.

Is there Financial aid available for transfer students?
Yes, 90 percent of Bethel students receive some form of financial aid. It is recommended that you and your parents complete the FAFSA and Bethel’s Financial Aid Application to determine aid. You can find more information from the Office of Financial Aid.

Also, if you have completed over 30 college credits and have maintained 3.2 GPA or above, you will want to send your high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores to determine if you qualify for a larger academic scholarship.

Is there an orientation for transfer students?
Yes, at the beginning of each semester there is an orientation called “Welcome Week” where you will be introduced to Bethel’s resources as well as have the opportunity to meet new and current students.
