Campus Ministries

World Challenge

World Challenge is a group that seeks to promote missions and biblical justice on the Bethel campus by creating an awareness of the needs of the world and providing students with opportunities for involvement.

Weekly Meetings:
Thursdays, 10:20-11 a.m. in the Loft.

Monthly Meals:
We regularly eat together to reaffirm the centrality of community and fellowship.

Online Community:

Stay up-to-date with World Challenge through Blink (Groups icon > Student Organizations > World Challenge).

Group Initiatives:
We want to be faithful followers of the biblical call to justice by, first of all, being educated and informed ourselves as to the justice issues for which we are passionate. We then seek to bring those issues to the Bethel community in a clear and coherent way—to raise awareness, funds, and activism from amidst this campus community. Past initiatives include:

  • Invisible Children (film depicting the lives and issues surrounding child soldiers in Uganda)
  • Gulu Walk (solidarity event for child soldiers in Uganda)
  • Annual Fair Trade Market in December (featuring fairly traded goods from around the world—just in time for Christmas gift-giving)
  • $1 Campaigns (mobilizing Bethel community members to each give $1—showing the incredible impact of our contributions)

Areas of involvement in the past include:

  • Africa
  • India
  • HIV/AIDS
  • Fair Trade
  • Creation Care and Environmental Concern
  • Twin Cities Issues
  • Bethel Connections
