Dr. DeGolier received her doctorate from the University of Minnesota in Animal Physiology. Her primary research interest is in smooth muscle physiology and pharmacoloy in vitro, examining brain-gut peptide regulation of smooth muscle tissue using various avian and mammalian models.

Recently her research has broadened to include capture/release field techniques for the inventory of small mammalian biodiversity and associated biodiversity studies within various habitats at sites both on and off campus. Since Dr. DeGolier has been at Bethel University, she has been active in implementing various teaching pedagogies to improve upon student learning

Dr. DeGolier teaches BIO365 Animal Physiology, BIO202 Human Physiology, GES328 Nutrition: the total diet, BIO113D Introduction to Organismic Biology, and BIO399 Introduction to Research.
