Dr. Hyatt joined the department in the fall of 2003. Brian received his B.S. from Bethel College and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota . His training and primary area of interest is developmental genetics. For his doctoral research he studied genetic interactions that are involved in the establishment of the left -right axis in the frog Xenopus laevis. In addition, his teaching abilities were recognized when he was nominated for the Outstanding Performance Award for Teaching Assistants. He then carried out post-doctoral research at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinatti where he studied the genetic regulation of early lung development in mice. Among the courses that Dr. Hyatt teaches are BIO 385 Molecular Biology, BIO112D Introduction to Molecular and Cellular Biology, BIO103D Human Biology, and BIO351 Developmental Biology. |
