Dr. Petersen joined the Biology faculty in the Fall of 2003. He earned a Ph.D. in Animal Ecology from Iowa State University. Dr. Petersen’s research interests include the effects of various habitat disturbances on bird communities and the effects of habitat fragmentation on biological diversity. Dr. Petersen’s teaching includes ENS102D Environment and Humanity, ENS205L Sustainable Living, BIO321 Aquatic Biology, BIO/ENS301 Wildlife Ecology, and ENS/GEO201 Geographic Information Systems. Dr. Petersen also has taught regularly at the Au Sable Institute of Environmental Studies in Michigan and at the Wheaton College Science Station in South Dakota’s Black Hills. |
