Steve Whiting

Associate Professor

Steve Whiting was hired as an associate professor at Bethel University in fall 2006. He teaches Information Technology and Applications, Business Problem Solving, and Business Calculus. The timing of his joining Bethel was clearly in God’s hands. It is a great story. If you see him, be sure to ask him about it.

Steve has over 18 years of management, consulting, and information technology experience. Before coming to Bethel he was a program manager for Electronic Data Systems (EDS) where he managed a team of IT consultants, programmers, and analysts supporting a wide variety of clients. He has consulted internationally and has presented at local and national symposiums in the areas of technology, logistics, and program management. Prior to his work with EDS, Steve served in the U.S. Air Force where he managed the acquisition and development of numerous computer modernization programs.
Steve holds an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Dayton, an M.A. in Pastoral Counseling from the Minnesota Graduate School of Theology, and is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. He holds a B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from North Dakota State University. He has the mind of an engineer but a heart for Jesus Christ. He brings both to his classes and integrates them in unique ways.

Before Seminary and a new baby he enjoyed numerous sports including golf and hockey. Now he enjoys crawling around the living room chasing after his daughter. He and his wife still enjoy golf but not as often. They reside in Vadnais Heights. You can contact Professor Whiting at whiste@bethel.edu.
