Associate Professor : Marketing

Mary Ann Harris was hired as an associate marketing professor at Bethel beginning in the fall, 2005. She taught communications strategy at the University of Minnesota and marketing management at St. Thomas University, St. Paul (MBA program) before joining Bethel. She earned her BA in Journalism/advertising from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, her MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and completed her doctoral studies from the University of Minnesota. She is currently working on her doctoral dissertation.

Prof. Harris has a professional background in advertising and marketing. She worked for Foote, Cone and Belding, Chicago and Fallon McElligott/Minneapolis (both global advertising agencies) as well as Ralston Purina/Eveready Battery Company and Scimed Medical Products. She held management positions in marketing and communications for those organizations. She has worked on a variety of product categories and on both domestic and international projects.

She is excited to extend her love of marketing and communications to the academic setting and has found Bethel students to be a wonderful group to teach. Her husband John is a marketing director at Best Buy. She has three children; Emily (10), Cole (8) and Blake (3). She and her family are involved in many activities at Grace Church, Eden Prairie where they have attended services since moving to the Twin Cities in 1994.
