Business & Economics

Tom Johnson

Associate Professor of Business: Marketing

Mr. Johnson received his B.A. from Wheaton, with graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota and the University of Wyoming. He has also completed coursework at the University of Trier and Humboldt University in Germany. Mr. Johnson lives with his wife, Sheryl McRoberts and dog, Doug, in Plymouth, MN. His son Anders is a recent graduate of North Park University. His interests outside of Bethel include inline and long blade speed skating as well as visiting his cabin on Rainy Lake in northern Minnesota. He likes to read, write, and travel. In 2006, he completed a book called The German Fairy Tale Landscape with a German friend, Michael Iba. He directs the Europe Term Business Semester in the fall of odd-numbered years but his greatest claim to fame is surviving a ride out into the sea in the undertows at Acapulco and a plunge through the ice while skating on Medicine Lake in Minnesota and slamming into an island while snowmobiling at night in a snowstorm. He does learn from his mistakes.
