Bruce Olsen

Associate Professor

Mr. Olsen received his B.A. in Business from Bethel College and his M.B.A., specializing in accounting, from the University of Minnesota. He is also a licensed certified public accountant. After completing his studies at Minnesota, he worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. for five years. He left public accounting in 1985 and worked as a controller and chief financial officer for several privately held businesses and one public company. After teaching as an adjunct professor since 1993, Mr. Olsen joined the full-time faculty in 1998. His areas of interests are business combinations, personal financial planning, and financial accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Minnesota Society of CPAs, and the Minnesota Council of Accounting Educators.  Mr. Olsen is also the Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR) for Bethel University.  As the FAR, he also serves as the Treasurer of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and is a member of the MIAC Executive Committee. In his free time, he enjoys international travel, hiking, gardening, and reading.
