The Internship Site...

is the organization which hosts the internship. This organization is required to provide an internship experience involving work that is substantial, challenging and fully supported by the organization. The employment of the intern should benefit the organization, while bearing in mind the primary goal of the internship is to provide a quality learning experience for the intern.
 

The Site Supervisor...

is a knowledgeable professional who is the on-site supervisor for the internship. The supervisor becomes a teacher/mentor for the student and is responsible for orienting, training, and evaluating the student throughout the duration of the internship.
 

The Faculty Supervisor...

 is the person who will oversee the academic direction of the internship and teach the internship class, a requirement if the student is to receive academic credit for the internship. At the end of the experience, the supervisor will award a grade and credit for the completed internship based on how the student demonstrates what has been learned during the experience.
 

The Student Intern...

plays the most active role in the internship because the student is responsible for actively engaging in a self-directed learning experience. The student is also responsible for developing internship goals and outcomes, applying and interviewing for positions, and meeting or exceeding the performance objectives as outlined in the job description.
 

The Internship Coordinator...

 is a university staff member who supports students and site supervisors engaged in the internship. The coordinator guides students through the internship process and tracks student internship registration and evaluation. The coordinator helps organizations find effective interns and is available to help these organizations define their internship offerings.
 

The Internship Committee...

 is a group of committed Bethel University faculty and staff which guides the policy and procedures of the internship program. The members are all stakeholders in the success of the program. Decisions regarding internship policy and academic credit made by the committee are final and only subject to review by the Dean of Academic Programs.
