My long-term teaching responsibilities have been (and continue) in organic chemistry. More recently my major commitment has been coordinating and teaching basic science and chemistry in the science concepts course which is required of all elementary education majors. I also work with the Academic Enrichment Office to coordinate the science tutoring program.
My wife Sharon and I are originally from California where I received my B.A. degree in chemistry from Westmont College and then my Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Arizona. In 1968 I was drawn from industry to Bethel by the opportunity to work with evangelical Christian students, and I continue to enjoy a long career at Bethel. I enjoy outdoor activities including camping, canoeing, and gardening.
