Invitation and Details: 2008 Novice Nationals

• Dates: March 14-16, 2008. Parli debate is on the 14th and 15th; individual events are on the 15th and 16th. Awards start at 6:30 p.m. on the 16th.
• Location: University of West Florida, Pensacola
• Hotel Information: The primary hotels are the Comfort Inn and the LaQuinta Inn, both in Pensacola.

Answers to common questions:

• What is a novice? A novice is a student in her or his first year (first or second semester) of intercollegiate speech competition. We use AFA guidelines - if a student has competed in 3 tournaments for a semester, they've used one semester of eligibility.
• Can a student be novice in IE and not in debate, or vice versa? Yes. If a student has never competed in debate at the college level, but has competed in individual events, they can compete here.
