"Each year, students ask me for reading lists. In response, I've compiled several lists of "really good books." These are my simply selections; they do not necessarily reflect any kind of authority. Enjoy reading!" - Professor Thomas Becknell | |
| Twin Cities Literature | You don't have to go to New York City to be a part of an artistic community. The Twin Cities is rich in literary opportunities. The nations largest literary center, The Loft, is in downtown Minneapolis and provides everything from writing workshops to public readings. The Loft is just one of the great places in Open Book, a renovated warehouse building in Minneapolis that includes the Minnesota Center for Book Arts, Ruminator Books, Milkweed Editions publishing company, and a Coffee Gallery cafe. Bookstores like Barnes & Noble have weekly readings by major authors. Some notables who have visited include Anne Lamott, Jon Hassler and R.A. Salvator. | |
| Career Services | A number of internships and careers are available to students in the Twin Cities. See our opportunities page or contact the Career Services office. |
