The rules, policies, and procedures in this manual are established to ensure smooth operation of the training room and the ATEP. Minor violations of these rules by the ATS will result in a meeting with the ATEP staff to determine the best course of action to prevent recurrence. Documentation of the meeting will be placed in the student's permanent file in the program director's office and a copy sent to the ATS. Second and third offenses will result in disciplinary probation or dismissal from the program.
Violations of Bethel Universtiy Commitments, rules, or policies will be handled by the Student Life Office according to the Student Handbook. Such violations may have implications to the status of the ATS in the ATEP as well.
Students who fall below the established academic or clinical standards will be required to meet with the ATEP staff to determine steps which will correct the situation, and to place the student on academic probation. Documentation of this meeting will be placed in the student's file and a copy sent to the student.
Students who fall below the established academic or clinical standards will be placed on a one semester probationary period. In more serious cases, the probation may also include suspension of clinical hours until improvement is seen. In order to be reinstated, the student must again meet the academic and clinical standards of the ATEP. If the student fails to meet the standards at the end of the probationary semester, the student will be dismissed from the ATEP.
If a problem arises with a student that is not related to academic deficiency, a meeting will be set with the ATEP staff, the problem will be identified, and a plan of correction will be established. Documentation of the meeting will be placed in the student's file in the program director's office, and a copy sent to the student. Should the situation not be rectified within the time period established during the meeting with the student, the student will be dismissed from the ATEP.
Students have the right to appeal all disciplinary actions within 7 days, in writing, to the program director and the HPE Chair. Appeals will be addressed within 7 days.
