exercise science

What is exercise science?

An applied science that examines human biological systems and their reaction to stressors on the body.

What is the job market like for an exercise scientist?

The market for exercise scientists is projected to increase with
continued study of diseases related to inactivity and with our need
to care for an aging population.

Become part of the next generation of health and fitness experts
to address issues like childhood obesity, type II diabetes, and
care for an aging population.

Why study exercise science at Bethel?

The greatest commandment given by our Lord Jesus was to “love thy neighbor as thy self.”

The study of exercise science includes fields such as cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupation therapy, and other health and fitness fields grounded in prevention and rehabilitation of disease and injury.

When people have great health needs, exercise scientists are there
to be the salt and light.

At Bethel you'll develop the skills to serve these health needs by:

  • Learning in a hands-on environment
  • Using a student run Human Performance Lab
  • Conducting undergraduate research
