Fourth Largest Physics Program out of 21 in Minnesota

According to American Institute of Physics 1997 statistics, there are 21 schools in Minnesota that grant bachelor degrees in physics. Of these schools, only the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus, Carleton, and Gustavus Adolphus have more students in the upper-division than Bethel's Physics Department.

Quality and Quantity

Not only are there large numbers of students, but they are of the highest quality. During the Nineties, 34 physics alumni entered graduate school or medical school. All of the graduate students had full financial assistance. At least 10 have recieved Ph.D.'s or M.D.'s (one from Princeton, two from MIT, another from Cal Tech, etc.) and 8alumni are currently official Ph.D. candidates.
