Physics Department

Atomic and Nuclear Lab

map-modlab.jpg

The Atomic and Nuclear Lab is used primarily for the teaching of Modern Physics. This class runs every spring and introduces the physics and engineering student to the major new ideas that have shaped our understanding of the physical world in the twentieth century. Students repeat some of the classic experiments and make measurements of their own.

During the fall semester, when Modern Physics is not being taught, we turn it over to the students to use as office space. Two windows, a markerboard, several Pentium III's, a Pentium II, and ethernet connections make this an attractive area to study.
