Process Your Perkins Loan

After you apply for aid, you’ll get a financial aid award letting you know if you’re eligible to apply for a Perkins Loan.

If you’ve been awarded a Perkins loan, there are just a few more things you’ll need to do before your loan is processed. You should complete this process by July 1 to prevent losing your Perkins eligibility.

  1. Complete master promissory note and entrance counseling.

If you're a first-time borrower, you must complete a Perkins electronic promissory note and entrance counseling with our loan servicer, ECSI. You'll receive a letter from ECSI with detailed instructions.

Repeat Perkins borrowers do not need to complete this step.

  2. Request loan amount.

You can request the amount you'd like to borrow online through Blink [Student Service tab > Financial Aid Awards channel > Financial Aid Awards]

    1. Select the appropriate academic year from the drop down list.
    2. Click the Accept Award Offer tab, decide how much of your Perkins Loan you want to borrow, and follow the instructions.
    3. Click Submit Decision.

If you’re unable to accept your loan award online via Blink, please complete and return the paper Loan Request form included with your financial aid award package.
