Notification of Parents/Hospitalization for Mental Health

If a student is seriously ill or has attempted suicide, official notification of the parents is at the discretion of student life staff. This policy assumes dependent status of students under 22 years of age unless the university is notified otherwise.

Students who are hospitalized for mental health reasons (or who need help in this area) should contact one of the deans in the Office of Student Life. A copy of the college policy regarding hospitalization and the process for returning to campus is available. The procedures outlined in this policy need to be followed prior to a student’s return to Bethel.
