Getsch Hall

Mission

Getsch hall is a freshman living area that consists of primarily double occupancy dorm style rooms. We believe that as much learning during college occurs outside of the classroom during everyday life as it does inside the classroom. This learning occurs as we attempt to live together as the body of Christ and face one another with the love of Christ Jesus. We strive very hard to serve freshman through building deep relationships with all of the residents of Getsch hall, listening to the needs of our residents, and providing activities and events that encourage community and learning. In all things, we attempt to bring honor to the name of Jesus Christ. My hope and prayer is that all who live in this hall may find it a home where they are welcomed by rich community and grow in their knowledge of Christ, self, and others.

Theme Scripture Verse

1 John 4:7-16

My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn't know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can't know him if you don't love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they've done to our relationship with God.

My dear, dear friends, if God loved us like this, we certainly ought to love each other. No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us—perfect love!

This is how we know we're living steadily and deeply in him, and he in us: He's given us life from his life, from his very own Spirit. Also, we've seen for ourselves and continue to state openly that the Father sent his Son as Savior of the world. Everyone who confesses that Jesus is God's Son participates continuously in an intimate relationship with God. We know it so well, we've embraced it heart and soul, this love that comes from God.

The upstairs lounge is designed especially for social activities and has another TV, a pool table, a foosball table, and plenty of couches for playing games with a big group. The downstairs lounge is quiet space specifically set aside for studying. It has 2 public computers, a printer, several tables and chairs, multiple couches, booths for hanging out and studying, and a pop machine. The downstairs lounge also houses laundry facilities, lockers for rent if you need extra storage space, and a kitchen.

Room Features

Our rooms feature lofted beds, desks, dressers, and closets for every person. Each floor has community restrooms with individual shower stalls. At Bethel, we believe that dorm style life is one of the greatest things about college. It brings people together in ways that are simply impossible in other living arrangements and it helps build truly vital community.
