Frequently Asked Question

  1. I chose a hall preference on my individual housing application. Will I get this hall choice? This is only an indication of your interest, not a guarantee. Availability in the hall will depend on your assigned draw time.
  2. How do I know if I have a Security Deposit on file?
If you are unsure a deposit is on file, visit the MyHousing and Meal Plan link in Blink (Student Services tab > Housing channel). The “Important Messages” section includes deposit information.
  3. How are Room Draw Numbers assigned? The date your housing application was completed determines your draw time. The earliest applications are first.
  4. I missed the deadline to request my roommate. What do I do? Wait for a few days. The application will be closed for several days to process room draw numbers. When it re-opens on June 4, both of you can request each other prior to selecting a room.
  5. What number do we use if I have requested a roommate?
The student with the earliest draw time will pull in the requested roommate when they select a room.
  6. How do I know if a roommate has requested me? Can I check this somewhere? The system automatically generates an email every time someone is added or removed. Watch your Bethel email. Their names will then be listed under “Existing Roommate Requests” on the MyHousing Overview page. If it says “Do Not Match”, this student has not yet chosen you as a roommate. If it says “Yes”, it means that you both have chosen each other as roommates.
  7. What happens if my friend does not request me correctly? The system will not allow you to be assigned together if you do not match. Before selecting a room, your friend needs to request you.
  8. Where can I find contact information on my roommate after selecting my room?  Your MyHousing Overview page includes roommates name and Bethel email. If you would like home information you can look them up on the Bethel Directory found in Blink
  9. What are the housing costs for next year?

    • The 2012/2013 housing rate in campus housing is $2550 a semester.
    • Most freshman halls have rooms that qualify for a "Triple Room Discount" of 25% off the semester rate.
    • Students living in Fountain Terrace apartments receive a 20% discount off their student rate.
  10. What is the cancellation policy?  May 1 is the deadline for cancellations. After this date, the $150 Security Deposit is forfeited. In addition, a cancellation received after July 15 is subject to a Housing Cancellation Fee of $200.
