Getsch Hall

Mission

Getsch hall is a freshman living area that consists of primarily double occupancy dorm style rooms. We believe that as much learning during college occurs outside of the classroom during everyday life as it does inside the classroom. This learning occurs as we attempt to live together as the body of Christ and face one another with the love of Christ Jesus. We strive very hard to serve freshman through building deep relationships with all of the residents of Getsch hall, listening to the needs of our residents, and providing activities and events that encourage community and learning. In all things, we attempt to bring honor to the name of Jesus Christ. Some of the activities that are unique to Getsch Hall include "porch night" a regular hangout  and BBQ time at night to which all are invited, a ping-pong tournament, and a Christmas party where we décorate the hall for the holiday season. It is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome any and all who might enter our hall. Thomas Mueller Resident Director

Theme Scripture Verse

"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." —Romans 12:9-12

Facilities at Getsch

Getsch houses 150 students on six floors of approximately 25 students each. Getsch has three separate lounge spaces. The main lounge has a ping-pong table, several couches and chairs, a TV, and the Shack which also has a TV and is a great place to play games at night. The upstairs lounge is designed especially for social activities and has another TV, a pool table, a foosball table, and plenty of couches to sit down and play games with a big group. The downstairs lounge is specifically set aside for quieter studying. It has two public computers, a printer, several tables and chairs, multiple couches, a pop machine, and several lamps. The downstairs lounge also houses our laundry facilities, lockers that are available for rent if you have the need for extra storage space, and also a kitchen space with a oven, microwave, and refrigerator.

Room Features

Our rooms feature lofted beds, desks with chairs, dressers, curtains, carpet, and closets. Each floor has community restrooms with individual shower stalls. Believe it or not, this is one of the best things about living in a dorm style hall. It truly helps build vital community.
