College of Arts & Sciences
This special two-day orientation is the perfect precursor to the activities of Welcome Week, and specifically designed to help you with the transition to college life at Bethel. Free of charge to you, the Navigators Program will be held Tuesday, August 28, through Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Move-In for students participating in Navigators will be on Monday, August 27, from 6-7:30 p.m.
"The program was very helpful to me. It allowed me to understand college life in a less chaotic manner. The mentors were a huge help. The program was well put together."
~ Former Navigators Program participant.
The objectives of the program are:
1. To welcome multicultural, international, and third culture students to Bethel
2. To point students to resources (offices, student organizations, etc.) of support
3. To prepare students for the challenges of academic and social life on campus
4. To establish relationships with other incoming students
Some benefits of attending the program include: The opportunity to meet with current Bethel students and staff; the space to meet and question professors in General Education courses; opportunities to participate in team-building and collaborative learning experiences (such as ropes course and other fun simulations); and ultimately to learn about resources that will help you navigate campus life. In addition, you can take care of your financial aid questions and move onto campus early, if you choose to do so.
