Parent Hospitality/Information Booth (Wednesday-Friday)

Be sure to stop by and pick up your Parent Information Packet! While you are there, feel free to ask questions, get directions, and have a quick snack.

Picnic and "Kickoff" (Thursday evening, August 28)

Everyone is invited to stay for an incredible picnic meal served in Kresge Courtyard. Parents and siblings of new students are free; new students are covered under their meal plan. Following the picnic, you and your student won't want to miss the "Kickoff" (your official Bethel welcome) in Benson Great Hall!

President's Reception for Parents (Thursday night)

Following the Welcome Week "Kickoff," please join us for a great time of fellowship and refreshments in the Dining Center hosted by our University President. Dress is casual.

Parent Information Sessions (Friday morning, August 29)

While your student is off meeting with his/her Core Group and taking care of other details Friday morning, you are invited to join us in Benson Great Hall for informative parent sessions led by distinguished administrators. This is another key component in the transition process. You won't want to miss these sessions!

Sessions include:

  • 8:30 a.m. Devotional - Provost
  • 9 a.m. The Heart of the Matter: Spiritual Growth During the College Years - Campus Pastor
  • 9:30 a.m. Academic Life at Bethel - Dean of Academic Programs
  • 10 a.m. Coffee Break - CLC Lobby
  • 10:30 a.m. Helping My Student Adjust to College Life - Vice President for Student Life
  • 11 a.m. Q & A (Ask the Leaders - Panel)

Parent Banquet (Friday evening)

Enjoy a relaxing dinner just for parents. A musical program, a word from President Jay Barnes, and a time of prayer and dedication will all be a part of the banquet program. Dress is business casual. Tickets are $15 per person. Reservations are required. Please register by Friday, August 22.

Celebration and Commitment Service (Saturday morning, August 30)

This service, led by the Campus Ministries team, is always a highlight for both parents and students. Come and be a part of this wonderful experience as the parent track of Welcome Week comes to a close.
