New Student Orientation 2009

Welcome Week Staff Running to welcome you.

What is Navigators?

Navigators is a four day orientation for Students of Color, International Students, Missionary Students (MK), Third Cultural Students (TCK), and Students with Disabilities who are entering Bethel University. The orientation will provide the students and their families with the necessary information for academic, social, and spiritual development.

Mission

To provide support and resources that are available for students as they enter Bethel University. To support students of color in cultivating relationships that are empowering, inclusive and that lead to multicultural students thriving and being included.

Goals

  • Create an inclusive environment where new students are empowered to succeed academically and spiritually.
  • Provide social support and encouragement.
  • To establish relationships with other incoming students as well as upperclassmen, staff, faculty, and the Bethel Community.
  • To model being reconcilers for Christ.

Bethel University Commitment

Bethel teaches the love of Christ across lines of gender, race, and socio-economic status. The university has a comprehensive strategy for reconciliation, including a chief diversity officer, the intentional recruitment of trustees, faculty, staff, and students from many ethnicities and cultures; a university-wide commission to review policy and provide anti-racism training; an Office of Inter-Cultural Diversity in student life to promote unity and support students; a nationally recognized major in Reconciliation Studies.
